Grandfather Mountain Scavenger Hunt

Join us all month long for NC April Science Festival with this self-guided scavenger hunt up to Flat Rock View. Park at Boone Fork Parking Area (milepost 299.9 on the Blue Ridge Parkway), find the flyer by the map at the start of the trailhead, scan the QR code in the Actionbound app, and start completing the Grandfather Mountain State Park bound! The QR code is also attached to this event if you'd like to scan earlier and see what adventure you'll be going on. This scavenger hunt takes you up Daniel Boone Scout Trail to Flat Rock View, which is 3.6 miles round trip. The hike is moderately strenuous, and climbs 1,050 feet up to Flat Rock View. This is a self-guided hike, please wear appropriate hiking shoes and dress for the weather. There are no bathrooms at Boone Fork Parking Area.
